Clutha District Community Centre (Te Pou Ō Mata-Au)

In 2023 we installed a state-of-the-art retractable Axor™ retractable seating system in the newly built Te Pou Ō Mata-Au - Clutha District Community Centre.  

With so much going on at the Central Otago hub and space at a premium, centre facility director Mary Woodrow was looking for a seating solution that was not only practical but flexible enough to cater for arts and cultural events and activities, health, education and business seminars and several not-for-profit organisations, social services, church groups and play groups that frequent the space. 

She settled on Alloyfold’s Axor™ Retractable Seating System with the Debussy seating option, which is already proving its worth in the busy environment that is expected to serve the community for another 60-plus years.

“They needed to be comfortable, look stylish, easy to use and retractable,’’ Mary says.

“This gives us the flexibility to use them for a wide variety of events instead of only seated theatre-style events. They have been working really well for us and we have had no issues. People also love how easy they are to roll in and out.’’

The centre is owned and operated by the Clutha Community Hub Trust and opened in 2022.
